Give Thanks Today

There’s a lot to be thankful for this week. Even the little things that you can’t appreciate right away, if spun in a positive way, can actually be quite a source of happiness and thrill. For instance, singleness. I’m struggling with the disease blessing of singleness, and I have to say that the more I think about it, the more I realize that it gives me the flexibility and independence to live life and enjoy it to the fullest…by myself.

Okay, maybe it doesn’t work so well for singleness. But, honestly, if most of us stopped to take a look around and actually soaked in the blessings of our life, we would have plenty to truly rejoice and be thankful for. Small things add up. The turkey that your mom has poured her heart and soul into brining and making on Thanksgiving Day. Having family and friends that we love and cherish to celebrate the holiday’s with. Having the ability to even afford a proper Thanksgiving meal, which is by no means a cheap experience.

One of the most important life principles to adopt in any given situation is to have a positive outlook on life. No one likes a debbie downer, and living the life of one is a very painful and anxiety-filled existence. Instead of looking at all the problems you are faced with, I encourage you guys to embrace all the wonderful things that are happening on a continual basis.

As for us, we are off until next week (Monday November 30th). We will be gobbling away at turkey over the weekend, gain the typical 5 lbs over the holiday season, and enjoy the company of all our friends and family.

I am truly thankful for all the support of our readers so far, and ask that you guys continue to help us get the word out about The Postgrad. Have a wonderful thanksgiving.

What are you thankful for today? Let us and the rest of our readers know!

Thanks for asking this important question brother Sam. What am I thankful for? A lot:

1) I thank GOD till this day that my Dad was healed miraculously in 1998 from an inoperable brain lesion. Dad’s healing was so suprising that the nuerosurgeon entered his case into the “books.”

2) I thank GOD that my family have the peace/assurance/joy knowing that my younger bro who combated mental illiness has been in the Heaven since 2006!! What a cool thing is the knoweldge that he’s in heaven?

3) I am so thankful for mentors — spritual and otherwise– that I have.

4) GOD’s mercy and forgiveness when I use misuse/abuse HIS grace.

5) I’m thankful that some of my past weakness (not just spritual, but also school-related and the like) are becoming my strenghts. In short, I’m so thankful that GOD has rewarded my efforts to grow/improve with *actual* growth and improvement.

6) I’m thankful for clouds, windy days, and snow. What can I say: I like all things Winter. Winter freaking rules! Are there Eskimos in heaven?

and much more.

Happy Thanksgiving
